Bridge Year Educational Services is pleased to announce a partnership with Maine Department of Labor – Competitive Skills Scholarship Program (CSSP). This partnership will allow eligible Bridge Year students to receive financial assistance while they are in the high school Bridge Year program. Financial aid may cover costs associated with tuition, books or materials students need for a college class, and other expenses related to their college education. That aid can follow them through their associates’ or bachelors’ degrees as long as they remain eligible. In order to be eligible, students must be in an approved career and technical education program, have a career goal that falls in the high-wage, high-demand category (according to the Department of Labor) and their household income must be below 200% of the federal poverty level. CSSP Program Goal:
To provide eligible individuals with access to post-secondary education, training towards industry recognized credentials and support leading to skilled, well-compensated jobs with anticipated high employment demand.
